Joselu decides to leave Real Madrid and is close to moving to Al-Gharafa in Qatar

Real Madrid who yesterday qualified for the semi final of UEFA Champions league through the extra oral 2-1 victory against Borussia Dortmund, was thrown a surprise when its Spanish striker Joselu decided to dump the club after one season of his stay with the white trumpeters, this after Carlo Ancelotti who has shown his intention of having the striker retained . Newspaper clippings culled from Spain reveal that the 34-year-old forward has decided to look for a new teaming opportunity for the following reasons; the arrival of Kylian Mbappé and André Silva to the Spanish giants.

Joselu was part of Real Madrid with the team voted to play in ASIt last season on loan from Espanyol, which as a substitute, played a major role in the UEFA Champions League semifinal, especially scoring goals. However, he has been sacked and he has resolved to try new challenges, with an intention of getting first team football in another team.

This has been reported by Marca and it is said that Joselu is on the Verge of moving to the Qatari league and is bound to join Al-Gharafa. This decision can be made as it comes as well from some Saudi Arabian clubs which prove the increased interest of Middle Eastern leagues in experienced footballers and their willingness to offer them competitive football.

This is not in any way a mere transfer of residence for Joselu but also a change of an important strategic formation for him. In P Qatar, he would be joining a league that has of late been featuring foreign players’ erosion, thus enhancing its struggling profile. In the case of Joselu, therefore the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the ambition of a team and at the same time be a regular starting player in what we consider to be one of Europe’s premier football leagues may seem more alluring than the lure of being part of one of Europe’s top clubs where one is bound to be a reserve.

This transfer decision also underlines changing characteristics within global soccer, where players are no more considering Europe’s giants as the only place where they can find equivalent competitive playing opportunities. Should the rumour materialize then it will not only mark the arrival of yet another experienced footballer to propel the sport in Qatar but also provide a signal to other established players to further seek Qatari football.

This transfer agreement is even more interesting as Joselu is sure to depart Real Madrid to join a new team in Al-Gharafa, a talented and experienced striker football lovers all over the world will be observing keenly to determine how this player will perform and add value to his team’s dreams in Qatar.
